La Quemada archeological site
Excited to travel to photograph Delva and Manuel engagement session in Xilitla we took a flight to Mexico City to get on a rented car just after landing but before see the couple we were planning to have a mini vacations to feed our creativity.
Our next stop was some awesome ruins we found online, what brought my attention were the shape of some buildings, too complex to be easily built and in some cliffs that civilization put bricks on the cliffs walls, besides this ancient people found a gorgeous place they had a good taste for those building architecture.
It Took us to get to La Quemada Archeological site about 1 hour driving from Zacatecas , we decide to go late so we had a nice light but as they close at 5pm, we were just able to photograph the place alone.
Prickly pearl trees everywhere in the valley
This was the ruin that turn my attention to, the Votive Pyramid
Bricks on the cliff wall easily 200 meters high
It is a tired trip to climb on top of the tallest ruin, I had to take some time and many breaths to recover
I can’t believe this people built a sheltered building like a warehouse with probably palm branches or some sore of water proof limbs, unfortunately they got fire according the readings in the ruins entrance and people can still see the black stain on top of some columns.
